the surprise
it was meant to be a surprise birthday party. but things dont always go the way you want them to. yet all things happen for a reason and i consider tonight to be a blessing in disguise. we all learn lessons everyday. but tonight has been a crash course on life. friends are precious. its a unique bond between otherwise complete strangers. the subtleties of a friendship are so fragile yet so strong. volatile is the word i'm looking for. yet, without these ups and downs, then what is life. life is made up by these. so we learn. each day we are more and more complete because of the lessons in life. with each mistake we make and correct and apologise for, we are more complete. tonight has been a wonderful sharing of thoughts, experiences, pain, loss and appreciation of what we have. it is a rare and beautiful occurence. to bare your soul and trust that you can bare your soul. in today's dog eat dog world, how precious is that. like the visa card advert.. its priceless. i have heard many stories tonight. people who went through much that i have yet to see. i am given an insight into different minds and different lives. lives of the past and present. i'm touched. and my tears express that. i am rarely touched outside of the movies. or rather, i avoid being touched. so tonight, is all the more so rare for me. everything has led to this talk. everything happens for a reason. if anything else happened or did not happen, tonight would not have been the way it was. tonight shall remain in a corner of my mind. even if one day it were lost in my subconscious, it would manifest itself in my actions of the present. then tonight would not have been in vain. talking is extremely powerful. i witnessed that tonight. so i end this little entry with a quote from Pat Sajak, his all famous line that he always says at the bonus round of the longest running game show "Wheel of Fortune" Just Talk It Out |
