people think

I've just read some people's blogs. Then it strikes me that as different as we all are, at the end of the day, we aren't THAT different after all. Inner thoughts and issues close to your heart are universal. What makes one stand out from another and what makes us unique is perhaps the way we react to these thoughts or issues. Me thinks that reaction then is definitely nurture and not nature. What is nature are the issues, what's nuture are the reactions.

For some weird reason, I've been seeing a lot of different and weird people. Not wacked up people, just weird TO ME. Cos they're so different that I simply cannot fanthom why and how they think the way they think and do things the way they do. Then one wonders how you can help that friend because it is blatantly clear that the way that person has been nurtured is not working out for them. It is making their life harder and less enjoyable. Then the question swings towards myself and I wonder if I am even fit to help. HAHA.

Is everyone born with this self-destructive quality in them? Are humans capable of living a life of little regrets? Can we EVER learn to truly cherish the all that we have without having to experience loss of some kind that makes you regret so much? Rather depressingly, I find that the answer is NO. For the simple fact that humans are imperfect. This is the only truth that we know for certain besides the fact that we will all die, one fine day.

There is no such thing as a person living hard everyday, treating every single person he/she loves lovingly, striving for improvement all the time, making all the good decisions, not wasting a single minute in sloth, not wasting a single cent on things he/she is gonna regret buying later, not being the least bit selfish, never blowing his/her top at someone, being truly generous with everyone, being 100% honest with others and oneself... the list goes on, you get the picture. In short, there is NO PERFECT BEING ON EARTH. The only one is up there in heaven and has a really really great father. HAHAHA.

The greatest irony and perhaps also the greatest strength of mankind in my view is the notion of HOPE. Hope is the most conflicting and important element in life. For one, there is no hope for any man to be perfect. Yet we keep going, we flog ourselves mentally everyday for things we are not happy about. Even the bible tells you that you are definitely guaranteed for eternity as to the fact that you are imperfect. Yet without hope, we have nothing. Everyday we hope for a better day, hope that we will improve, hope that things will go smoothly, hope this hope that, hope hope hope. With my uncle's lung cancer, the only thing keeping all of us going is hope. That's why we arent sobbing our hearts out or living in the dumps. Cos we have hope in our hearts.

Humans sure have a thing for the underdogs. WE ARE THE UNDERDOGS. hahahaha... We are made in the image of our heavenly father... that's why we have a thing for underdogs, cos God loves US the underdogs. He placed hope and faith and boundless love on us. HE sacrificed his ONLY son for the underdogs that broke his heart. (Altho, on a side note, I always wondered why he had only ONE son. Was it to make that sacrifice seem even greater and more painful? just a thought. hahaha)

At this point, I can only say that life is full of contradictions. We contradict ourselves all the time. We don't say the things we really wanna say, we don't do the things we said we will do, we are seemingly incapable of living the life we really really wanna live, we don't seem to be able to be the person that we truly wanna be. I use WE, perhaps its just ME. BUT its one of the things that is really close to my heart and I wonder how many people share this sort of inner thoughts with me?

and you might wonder why we are all so essentially similiar to one another... the answer is blaringly obvious, stupid... cos the same guy made us all.
