oook the euphoria has somewhat settled down. here's the review for the spy who didnt go (lol)

singaporeans arent very punctual. the tix said the concert would start at 8pm. but at 8pm most of the seats were still empty. people streaming in at 8pm. got a couple of swedish guys seating on my right and some chatty thais behind me. the stage is really nice and cosy. curtains as a backdrop and blue & green lighting at the start.

the concert started at about 8:15pm pretty on time i should say. a guy with a very very deep voice (super bass) said, welcome diana krall and we all clapped and cheered... more cheers and claps when we saw her... I got a little shock cos she straightened her beautiful blonde hair... kinda used to seeing her with her curls she entered and without any ado counted 4 counts and there she went, with her 3 man band, anthony wilson a guitarist that is always touring with her... a drummer and a bassist.first song of the night was "I Love Being Here With You" then she launched into another song right after that with a piano solo intro...

it went really nicely and i was just starting to get sucked into the beautiful music when someone far behind sneezed. (that type of sneeze that you know the person was trying damn hard to stop) diana whispered into the mike "bless you" inciting laughs from us... beautiful start to the night... light hearted and full of humour...

then she did another number by nat king cole, whom she said was a big influence on her in terms of piano playing and singing... the song "I'll String Along With You" beautifully done... her voice is so initmate and soft... oh man... beautiful interpretation of the song by DK.she then launched into a few other songs "The girl in the other room", "stop this world", "boulevard of broken dreams", "lets face the music and dance", " Temptation", "deed i do", "narrow daylight"... some with a tinge of texas cowboy feel and some rather frisky and really fun presentation of the songs.... with every song came piano solos and guitar solos, drum solos and bass solos... all met with well deserved applause... the musicianship was top notch.

one song that was really cute was "your feet's too big" so cute the lyrics...
Quote:
there were 4 of us, me, you and your feet, i cant sit beside you cos your feet's too bigi hate you cos your feet's too big
even diana found it really funny, she couldnt help laughing when she sang that song... displaying a really friendly and intimate side of her that she isnt known for (she's known to be rather cool and aloof in concerts in the past) but she was really enjoying herself and even cracked jokes and commented on the song saying "this is sick" while singing the big foot song... later on she shared with us that her grandma had taught her this song... (aww)

she wrapped up with "Devil May Care" a fantastic performance that got the crowd cheering really really loudly then she proceeded to exit (the whole encore act coming on lol) we of course knew what to do, we didnt stop clapping and cheering, and some people calling for encore... of course she came back on stage to very loud cheers.

she did 3 more songs before saying the final good night.1 hour and 45 mins never felt shorter in my entire life. why cant my lectures (that also last 1hour45mins) feel this short too??!?!?!?!?

and might i add that diana's piano playing skills are absolutely mind blowing. her fingers are so agile and deft and quick and light... omg.... running on the piano like the FLASH.
