Sleepless in Sengkang

Mmm... eventful week. Sunday was a whirl, singing for 1 and a half rounds of the open house before going to Raffles City for the soundcheck, in preparation for the big show (I was saved when HC helped me do my eye makeup cos I suck at it & Connie finally bought herself a watch!! that is, after at least 6 months about telling me how she needs a watch *coughcough*). I wasn't too stressed about it although it was a huge event. Rather odd, that.

Yes, a performance that's gonna stick around in my conscious memory for quite a while, its the item us 3 (FAC) put on at the Compass Awards sunday night. pics and video still not in yet, I'm not sure if I wanna watch the video (ahahaha)

thanks to a rather "ե" friend, us 3 got a chance to take a picture with Ah Du!! Hahaha... He sings really nice "live", totally unexpected to me, my impression of his singing ability took a 180 degrees turn when I heard him sing that night (even tho' the sound system and crew were top notch, it still takes skill to deliver it good) Got a pic with SI runner-up as well...

well, the event wasn't exactly very fun to be at. for one, it was rather unentertaining, since we didnt know the people there, but I enjoyed some of the performances of our local musicians =) My friends went out for a walk, while I decided to stay at the table and read my IF3325 articles (roflmao) however I caved in after awhile and joined HC when she got up for a walk.

I got out of the dining place to see JJ standing right outside the hall eating when Carmen offered us some pizza. There was a really really fantastic cake they bought from somewhere in Raffles City. Carmen and I got some coca cola to drink... I couldnt make myself drink the gassy orange drink I ordered ><

the few of us stood around that table and entertained ourselves (an activity we are very much accustomed too by now) and I picked up some "How-to-sound-like-an-Indian" skills from the master himself until they had served the next course of the dinner (this was a very slow dinner, they took ages to serve each course)

the dinner started at 730pm sharp and lasted till 11pm. Our slot was at about 1030pm. Soon it was our turn, last touch-ups to our makeup, we went up and gave it a 100 & 1% Spotlights shined on my eyes, I couldnt see the people below the stage, heck, I was hardly aware of what I was doing. It was more like clockwork, your body taking over your mind. I didn't forget any steps, but I wasnt sure if I went off-key or sang well, but I enjoyed that thrill of performing, that adrenaline rush, that feeling that you own the stage, you are in command, the show is yours.

we didnt get much practice, given our hectic schedules, being so near my exams and my friends had tons of homework and projects as well... but for that tiny bit of practice we got, I'd dare say we did a-ok. It was a great opportunity, I'm glad we did it in spite of everything, great experience... and really fun after all...

Yay... Ah Du!
