Carolling @ Bugis wasn't what I have bargained for. Its extreme tiring. Its also hurting my throat. Coupled with the recent lack of sleep, I'm worried for my vocals. I DONT WANNA LOSE MY VOCALS!!! Not going to push myself over the top for the next round of carolling. Its not worth it to injure my throat like that.

Mmmm... I saw a couple of movies recently, Aeon Flux with JY, J and DM. The other movie is King Kong with J,S,s,K & JY.

Aeon Flux. The only thing I liked about the movie was the entire feel of it. Clean lines, sleek, chic and minimalist. Plain colours, black and white. The gymast-like moves of the female lead, Charlize Theron. Oh my she's got the look HAHAHA. Aside from that, I think we've all gotten numbed to this sort of theme - futuristic/cloning/sci-fi/action film. Not too impressed by the overall storyline, but the idea of some people cloning and keeping the population alive by that method is interesting to think about. Of course the loop holes were blatantly out there, like the walls that Aeon could easily jump over, given her superwoman acrobatic skills, and things like how in the world do you teach yourself cloning, what if your clone had deviated from yourself so much so that you no longer are the same anymore. I give this movie 6.5/10

King Kong. Naomi Watts is a brilliant casting job done. Well, so was Adrian Brody. (hehe) I must say, however, that the mad-capped director guy was also a good casting decision. All in all, its a good movie. I rank it about 8/10 for its effects. I cant imagine the amount of effort that went into perfecting the special effects and computer graphic work for this movie. The 2 points I deducted went to the really lousy native people aka tribal people/ancient civilization. I thought it was pretty lame, whilst my juniors were quite terrified of them... Maybe its just that I had studied quite a bit on ancient cities and their lives and such that I felt that the picture's portrayal of the natives were a tad off. For one, their tools were a little fake - like the one they used to hoist Naomi Watts down as sacrifice to Kong. I also didnt like the way they tried to portray them in this eerie manner - like that child standing alone with her arm raised looking rather like a zombie. There's nothing eerie about native people, they were a civilization afterall, the movie made them out to look like mindless brutes and nothing else >_>

The other point that I deducted came from the length of the move. A freaking 3 hours. OHMYGOOSE. The front part was way too long. Dont think they had to spend so much time on establishing the part about shooting a film at the start.

Other than that, I think the movie is fantastic. 8 points for the lovely Naomi Watts and King Kong, I love the way King Kong was made. His behavior was really the manifestation of loads of research on animal behavior. The battle with dinosaurs was also something nice. Not forgetting the lovely scenes in which Kong and Naomi had to themselves, before something instrusive destroyed that truly "beautiful" moment. The story of King Kong was told quite beautifully. Definitely a nice movie to catch.

Movies aside...

The usual frustrations of life apply =P The usual.

But I've been reading the biography of Audrey Hepburn in recent days and after reading about her early years, up to when she was 22, I feel like I've been through nothing. Makes me feel a little ashamed of myself. Although, I can say that I am definitely in the path of pursuing my dreams. Tiring as it is... my path is nothing compared to that of Audrey Hepburn's.

With a startle, I realise that I havent been singing. The usual songs of course. Christmas carols I am about to puke over. I also havent been listening to music. I'm afraid that I'm gonna fall behind in the state of things. I NEED TO ORGANIZE MY TIME!!!!! - where's an organizer when you need one =P
