long day... PSS round 2.
woke up... very sleepy... argh on a sunday morning... reached toa payoh and met up with connie at 11am then we went to register for the 2nd round of pss. turns out we're the 4th and 5th to sing... like ohmigosh SO FAST?!?! i was still quite calm initially... but upon hearing that we're singing so quickly i started to feel very jitterish. scary sia. saw my jc classmate hq there. turns out she's one of the first ten to sing... saw a few other familiar faces there.. oh boy... well anyway by the time it was my turn everyone infront of me was given the green light. that made me feel even more nervous... couldnt help but think that i might be the first one to be out. the judges comments were very straight and direct. constructive nonetheless. being nervous can make you lose more than 50% of what you are capable of. as i stood there... singing a song was suddenly such scary business. kinda screwed up my first song cuz i was so nervous that i didnt switch to my falsetto and actually kinda went into the high pitches with my true voice (which really sounds like shouting) and the judges had a lot to say about that... they asked me to sing another song and i sang a nice low melody which they said was much better than my first song. had comments about my makeup being plain. clothing wise i cant really remember what they said exactly... but i have a feeling that they dont think what i wore suits me. singing wise they told me to go the path of tanya and penny dai... (as nicole laoshi has told me before) so after the onslaught of comments which i listened and nodded my head to intently ended... they asked me to look at the light again.. this time not so blur... i heard the nice bell and saw the green light then i was so relieved i could only bow and say thanks before making a hasty exit down the stage (yes this round is outdoors with people watching the audition and hearing the comments the judges have for you EEKS) i grabbed my bag.. in a daze.. looked for the table to do the admin stuff.. got called over to do an interview with jeff and then me and connie were asked about how much we spent on our outfits on the way out. afterwhich we exited the scene and i had to go back to lws. i'm so glad that both me and connie are into the 3rd round. i wish the both of us luck for the 3rd round. first there were 150... then 60... after 3rd round there will be 20... then its 4th round at suntec where the final few will be picked and from then on... the journey to being the next pss champ on TV begins. may the force be with you. |
