PSS round 3.
alas, my journey ends here. but i'm happy enough to have made it to the top 45 girls... and it was also a very interesting experience. one very important lesson learnt from this... please take care of your health at all times. you cannot afford to even be a little sick on a day like this. take it from me... i got hit by flu 2 weeks ago... didnt make a full recovery and got hit by a relapse again this week and today i have problems talking without coughing, let alone sing properly... health is so important... the condition of your body and voice (especially for singers) is OH-SO-IMPORTANT. well, lesson learnt... i must do something about my unhealthy living style (what with the working hours and my sleeping hours) other things i've learnt from PSS 2006/7 1. at this level of competition, you must really step up your standard and push yourself really hard. i've never pushed myself so hard before... i feel very tired... but happy. thats because i know that i really really tried. 2. i learnt more about myself, my singing voice, my image and personal grooming. seeing all the 44 other girls today... i saw so many different kinds of girls... every single one of them put in so much effort into their appearance it makes me feel like i havent done enough. 3. i'm not the artiste type of character... i'm camera shy (except when i perform/sing) and i'm not extroverted and also not sociable enough. there were many attractive personalities there today... those who possessed that sort of air around them that makes them stand out from the crowd. they socialize very well... make friends very fast and are very natural and open infront of the camera... all the elements that make a good artiste. 4. the life of an artiste is sooooooooooo tiring... no day no night... all day long... i reached mediacorp at 11am. we were brought into the studio near 12noon. auditions started around 1pm. wait wait wait wait until auditions ended around 10pm. wait even more until results were out like 1130pm. and Quan Yifeng was saying that being an artiste is like that... she started her day at 7am filming other shows and there she was, hosting this PSS at 12mn and still oozing that high level of energy for the camera. gotta admire her stamina and professionalism. 5. my love for music and the passion to perform is reaffirmed. i'm definitely going to continue joining more competitions in future. i find that these competitions really push my boundaries and make me step out of the comfort zone. although one might feel very lost at the moment, i'm sure that after the experience has sunk in and the new knowledge digested, one will be more enlightened than before. thanks to all family and friends for all your well wishes and Cheryl for the oh-so-important make up tips. mmm... make up is definitely something i have to start learning more about... make up really can work wonders if you know how to use it. Connie made it into top 20 girls!!! she's gonna perform at suntec in 2 weeks. Good luck my dear friend =) |
