Hermit Crabs

My new and first ever pets as of 21st April 2007 =)

no pictures yet because of some malfunctional of IT gadgets -_- (whats new man)

came home today after work and wah lao i saw my Hermes crawling out of its shell and its colour all wrong... then i saw pincer and legs lying around in the tank. first thought was omg what happened, did they fight or something?

then i realised that Hermes had molted. surface molting >_< ARGHGHGH i read about how surface molting can lead to death... NOOOO i dun wan Hermes to die only 3 days after i bought that bugger =(

so i used pincer (lol) to ISO (isolate) Hermes into the nearest container i could find... a very pathetic small little plastic container which will have to do until Hermes is stronger.

he's eating his exo skeleton now... thats a good sign according to experts online...

wah lao so scary to experience this kind of thing when i'm still a noob at caring for hermies =s

so far the names of my 4 hermit crabs are spidycrab, hermes, gen pi chong and sleepy HAHA their names will probably change a bit when i get to know them better =)
